Why holiday in the New Forest?

The New Forest, the UK’s southernmost National Park, is a perfect holiday spot all-rounder.

The keen walker or laid-back ambler will adore exploring the New Forest’s abundance of walking trails across the heathland or through the tall tree forests. And as a change of view from the greenery – the New Forest has around 40 miles of coastline, ranging from sandy beaches to saltmarshes and cliffs.

Holidaymakers are spoilt for choice with outdoor activities and family-friendly fun to explore in the area. The local towns and villages are a must-see and have a wonderful array of cafés and pubs to refuel in after a day of exploring.

Beaulieu

Beautiful Beaulieu has been an attraction in itself in the New Forest since the 1200s when French monks came to Beaulieu Abbey. The village had strong royal ties throughout the reign of King Henry VIII, and the abbey can still be visited today. The village is also home to Beaulieu Motor Museum, a must-see for car enthusiasts. It's also a great stop for families, where you can experience the monorail right over the gardens and play in the huge playground ‘Little Beaulieu’.

The village itself is gorgeous, with some truly delightful shops and cafes. You can stop at The Beaulieu Bakehouse for excellent coffees, sandwiches and cakes, then stroll along to Bellord and Brown for seasonal vegetables and lovely local produce. There’s a fantastic garden centre and several other wonderful independent stores to while away the time until afternoon tea, where you can treat yourself to a VIP experience at The Montague Arms.

Lymington

Further along the coast is the sailing town of Lymington. The town is incredibly popular for those who want to be out on the water and also has a delightful array of attractions and eateries for those who would prefer to stay on land. The Saturday market is great for picking up local produce, or wandering down the Highstreet with a coffee in hand, browsing the local stalls of homeware and crafts. There’s a great selection of pubs in the town, some great for food, others great for beer and some great for everything! Children will love the playground along Bath Road, which provides a view of the boats and ferries coming up and down Lymington River, or the fantastic playground and park at Woodside Gardens, where they can discover the fairy wood and climb in the trees.

Brockenhurst

In the centre of the New Forest, you’ll find the hub of Brockenhurst village. Its busy little high street boasts some lovely local shops for you to pick up everything you need during your stay. There is a greengrocer, butcher and bakery, amongst other local shops and cafés. The Pig, just outside the village centre, is a real treat and offers sumptuous dinners, lunches and even treatments in their ‘Pig Shed’ for those looking to unwind. Bikes can be hired from Cycle Experience, and cycling is a fantastic way to explore the beautiful forest. If you’re travelling to the New Forest by train, then Brockenhurst is an excellent location as it’s a mainline station stop from London Waterloo to Weymouth.

Family-friendly self-catering and holiday cottages

Our properties are all within arms reach of a wide range of popular activities and attractions that will be sure to keep the whole family entertained. Whether you're with small children or teenagers, there are plenty of options to choose from, such as Peppa Pig World, Beaulieu Motor Museum, and so much more. The ‘Great Outdoors’ is the best playground, and some local activity centres are a brilliant hub to try new skills. The New Forest Activity Centre hosts archery, canoeing and battlezone activities – fun for literally any age! And for animal lovers, Longdown Activity Farm is a great opportunity to meet the baby animals, learn about their needs and just have a good time playing on the farm – tractor rides included!

Interested in letting your property?

If you own a property in the New Forest or the surrounding area and are considering letting it as a holiday property, then head over to our ‘Owners Page’ here….

We fully manage a selection of cottages which enables us to know each property inside out. We manage every step of the way, from the initial onboarding and marketing of the property, to photo shoots, cleaning quotes and availability planning.

We discuss in detail with each owner what they want from renting out their home, including how much they want to use it themselves – because that’s what its all about too!

We visit each property regularly and have a fantastic relationship with our very capable housekeeping team.

Guests are left with Welcome Packs and are really left to enjoy their stay in peace. In the unlikely event that they need to contact someone, we provide an emergency mobile number, and we’ll get someone out to the property if the need arises.
